E-Waste Recycling FAQ — Answers for Texas Businesses

Find answers to common questions about e-waste recycling in Texas, including accepted equipment, complimentary pickups, data security, compliance, and scheduling.

What types of equipment does Green Glove accept?

We accept computers, laptops, servers, monitors (all types), TVs, printers, copiers, phones, tablets, networking equipment (routers, switches, hubs), UPS units, batteries, wires, cabling, and media equipment. If you have something not on this list, call us — we can usually accommodate it.

Is the pickup service free?

Complimentary pickups are available to qualifying customers. Qualification is generally based on volume — organizations with larger quantities of equipment typically qualify. Call 800-228-5016 to find out if your business qualifies for a free pickup.

What happens to our data?

All hard drives and data-bearing devices are handled according to NIST 800-88 data sanitization guidelines. You receive a Certificate of Destruction confirming permanent, irreversible destruction of your data. We do not resell, reformat, or redistribute storage media.

Do we receive documentation for compliance purposes?

Yes. Every pickup includes a Certificate of Recycling and a Release of Liability. These documents satisfy HIPAA, SOX, GLBA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements. Serial number tracking is available on request for organizations with stricter audit requirements.

How far in advance do we need to schedule?

For standard pickups, we typically schedule within 1-2 weeks. For large-volume decommissions or data center cleanouts, more lead time is helpful. Contact us early if your project has a deadline.

Does Green Glove serve locations outside of Plano?

Yes. We serve businesses across the entire Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Houston, and surrounding areas. We also work with clients in Oklahoma City and other nearby states. Call us to confirm service availability at your location.

What does e-waste recycling actually involve?

We collect your equipment, transport it securely to our processing facility, and separate materials for environmentally responsible disposal. Metals, plastics, and circuit boards are routed to appropriate recyclers. Hazardous components like batteries and certain display materials are handled per EPA guidelines. Nothing goes to a landfill.

Can you handle large-scale data center decommissions?

Yes. We regularly work with organizations decommissioning entire server rooms or data center floors. Our team can manage pickup logistics, documentation, and certified destruction for hundreds or thousands of drives. Contact us to discuss your project scope and timeline.

Is there a minimum quantity required?

There is no minimum for paid pickups. For complimentary pickups, a minimum volume is required to qualify — contact us to discuss your situation.
